Winners of Public Naming Contest
Congratulations to Ja'Ali, Juleus, Lyric Kinsey, and their grandfather Steve Richbow, for naming Elowishes Pond. Inspired by a beloved pet lizard, the family spotted many lizards during their trek through the Sun 'n Lake Preserve and decided the best thing to do was name the pond after their pet since so many of his "relatives" seemed to be living near the water.
We also would like to congratulate Emily Clogston and her family for naming Bear Pond in honor of her father's New England roots and his love for the Bruins hockey team.
We highly appreciate everyone who participated and voted. You’ve helped shape a small piece of county history!

Map with updated pond names
In the coming weeks all ponds will be registered with the State of Florida and have their official signage installed. Once installed, we encourage all residents to visit the preserve, take photos with their favorite pond names, and show your love for this special space!
You might even see some locals enjoying the ponds while you are out in the Preserve!
