MISSION
The Public Information Office is responsible for promoting awareness of the county’s mission, programs, polices and initiatives to Highlands County residents, visitors, and the media.
GOAL
Our goal is to use a comprehensive approach to inform and empower citizens and enhance community awareness by means of media relations, public education tools and timely crisis communication.
OUTREACH
The Public Information Office distributes news to the public through a variety of avenues from news releases to social media accounts. Staff also take part in preparedness outreach presentations to the community, as well as hold an annual Citizen's Preparedness Academy.
