Contractors who are required to have a license must create a Contractor Account.

Important:
If you already have a contractor license and an email on file with Highlands County, do NOT create a new account. See section below: "Current Contractors."

Each contractor should have one account per license type.
Example:
If XYZ Builders has:
  • A Class B license → 1 account 
  • A plumbing license → 1 separate account 
Employees or superintendents who need access should create a Public User Account.

1. Current Contractors
If you already have an email on file with Highlands County: Do NOT create a new account.

Follow these steps to log in:
  1. Click “Search for a Contractor” 
  2. Search by: 
    • Owner Name 
    • Operator: “contains” 
    • Enter your last name 
  3. Find your company’s HC Number (first column) 
  4. This number is your username (license number) 
  5. Click “Forgot Password” to create a password 
Your password will be sent to the email on file.

Logging In
  1. Go to the login screen 
  2. Select “Contractor” from the dropdown 
  3. Enter your username and password 
What You Can Do
Once logged in, you can:
  • View permits 
  • Apply for: 
    • Development projects 
    • Building permits
    • Driveway permits
    • Utility permits
    • Temporary Right-Of-Way Use permits
    • Vacation of Easement
    • Vacation of Right-Of-Way
    • Vacation of Plat
  • Check application and inspection status 
  • Request inspections 
    (Note: For driveway permits, inspectors have up to 5 business days from the requested date to complete the inspection)
2. New Contractors
If you are new to Highlands County:
  1. Open the eTRAKiT Self-Service Portal 
  2. Click “Setup an Account” (top right) 
  3. Select your HC Type
  4. Fill out all required fields 
  5. Upload documents, such as: 
    • License 
    • Insurance 
    • Workers’ compensation 
    • Resume (if required) 
All fields must be completed to create your account.
It may take up to 2 business days to process.
If this is your first login:
  • Your account will show as Applied
You will be notified when your registration is complete, and your contractor number is active.

After You Create Your Account
  1. Log in at the top of the screen 
  2. Select “Contractor” from the dropdown 
  3. Enter your username and password 
Be sure to save your login information. County staff cannot access your password.
