Parks & Recreation Facilities

Highlands County parks are open and here is what you need to know to help protect yourself and your family:
1. Keep a distance of 6 feet from others
2. Consider wearing a cloth face covering
3. Do not gather in groups of 10 or more
4. Bring your own sanitizer and use it frequently
5. Don't over crowed parking lots and trailheads
6. Pick up your trash
7. Stay home if you are feeling sick
8. Playground equipment is not regularly sanitized

County Parks

H.L. Bishop Park
Located on Lake June at 10 Lake June Clubhouse Road, Lake Placid.
HL Bishop Park
H.L. Bishop Park is a favorite of the public.  Amenities include:
  • Basketball Courts (2)
  • Boardwalk
  • Fishing Pier
  • Permitted Swimming Area (between Memorial Day and Labor Day only)
  • Picnic Areas
  • Playground
  • Restroom Facilities
The park has a clubhouse that is available for rent. Please call 402-6812 for availability.

Lake Istokpoga Park
Located at 720 Istokpoga Park Access Road (off U.S. 98).
Istokpoga Park Boardwalk
Lake Istokpoga Park has many improvements that attracts daily activities including picnic and fishing, as well as fishing tournaments.  Amenities include:
  • Boat Ramp (double)
  • Fishing Pier & Boardwalk
  • Picnic Facilities
  • Nature Trails
  • Restroom Facilities
Windy Point Park
Located at 65 Windy Point Road in Lake Placid.  The park is located on the south side of Lake Istokpoga.

Windy Point Park has many amenities for outdoor enthusiasts. Amenities include:

  • Boardwalk
  • Picnic Facilities
  • Nature Trail
  • Restroom Facilities

Sun 'N Lake PRESERVE
Located at the west end of Sun 'n Lake Blvd., in Sebring.  Preserve of Sun n Lake Ponds

The Sun 'N Lake Preserve is a 1350-acre nature preserve managed for wildlife habitat and non-motorized vehicle recreation.  Passive recreation includes fishing, hiking, bird watching, and off-road biking.  No driving, boats, hunting or camping is allowed. 

Desoto City Park
Located at 6305 County Road 17 South in Sebring.  Desoto City Ballfield

Amenities include:
  • Softball Fields
  • Picnic Facilities
  • 5 acres in a park-like setting
Lincoln Heights Park
Lincoln Heights Park is located at 426 School St. in Sebring. 

Amenities include:
  • Softball Field
  • Basketball Court
  • Playground 

 Martin Luther King Park
Located on at 13963 Josephine Ave., in the Highway Park subdivision, in Lake Placid.  

Amenities include: 
  • Basketball Court
  • Baseball Field (lighted)
  • Picnic Pavilion
  • Playground 
Lorida Park
Located at 1909 Blessings Ave. in Lorida. 

Amenities include:
  • Ball field
  • Playground
  • Pavilion
  • Grill
