The Highlands County Parks & Recreation proudly maintains 45 parks locations and are responsible for the maintenance, management, improvement and development of the County's park system.  They are also responsible for maintaining the grounds of 25 public buildings throughout the county.
Highlands County primary goal is to provide safe, clean and functional parks and recreation facilities.  Our parks offer active and passive recreational opportunities for everyone.   All county parks are open all year long from sunrise until sunset unless launching a register vessel for fishing.  Facilities include 8 parks, 5 ball parks, 4 playgrounds, 4 nature/boardwalks and 37 boat ramps.

Highlands County parks are open and here is what you need to know to help protect yourself and your family:
1. Keep a distance of 6 feet from others
2. Consider wearing a cloth face covering
3. Do not gather in groups of 10 or more
4. Bring your own sanitizer and use it frequently
5. Don't over crowed parking lots and trailheads
6. Pick up your trash
7. Stay home if you are feeling sick
8. Playground equipment is not regularly sanitized
