Office of County Probation

The Highlands County Misdemeanor Probation provides supervision and support for individuals placed on misdemeanor probation by the court. Our goal is to promote accountability, ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions, and support successful completion of probation.

Our mission is to support individuals on Misdemeanor Probation through respectful supervision, individualized guidance, and access to services that encourage responsibility, personal growth, and positive community reintegration.

Important Information

Individuals placed on misdemeanor probation may be required to:
  • Report monthly report to a probation officer
  • Pay all court-ordered fines and fees
  • Complete community service hours
  • Attend court-ordered classes or treatment programs
  • Submit to drug and/or alcohol testing
  • Comply with all laws and avoid new arrests
Failure to comply with these conditions may result in a violation of probation.
  • Report on your assigned date each month.
  • Bring all required documentation (completed community service, program certificates, etc.).
  • Notify probation immediately of any address or employment changes.
Payments for fines, fees, and restitution can be made:

  • In person at the probation office
  • By money order, debit or credit
  • By phone, to our office 
  • Online at www.highlandsfl.gov
Failure to comply with court-ordered conditions may result in:
  • A violation report being submitted to the court
  • A court hearing
  • Additional penalties, including possible jail time
