All County-owned Surplus Property sales are sold AS IS. No actual or implied warranties of habitability, condition, merchantability, or fitness for any general or specific use are hereby given. It is the responsibility of the potential buyer to contact the appropriate governmental agencies to determine whether the property can be utilized for the buyer’s intended use.
Buyers will be responsible for the payment of documentary stamp tax and recording fees, which are due at the time of purchase. Property sale transfers are by County Deed.
Highlands County reserves the right to waive any and all informalities, to reject all bids, or to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County.
No action is required by the bidders at this time. Additional steps to be taken will be posted as the timeline is established.
Note: Some of these properties may have one (1) year of District Assessments due. This amount is IN ADDITION to the bid amount. If applicable, the district assessment will be collected prior to the recording of the County Deed.
