As the Assistant County Administrator, Tasha Morgan is responsible for working alongside the County Administrator to carrying out the policies of the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners. A Certified Public Accountant, Tasha assists with managing the daily operations of Highlands County, which includes eight (8) departments, more than 385 employees and an annual budget of approximately $150 million. Tasha serves a county population of 100,000 residents.
Tasha began her public sector career with the City of Jacksonville in 2000 as a Public Accounts Auditor. She moved back to her hometown of Highlands County in 2005 and took a position with the Highlands County Clerk of Courts Office. In the Clerk's Office, she held various positions, including Internal Auditor, Senior Accountant and Accounting Director.
In December of 2016, Tasha took a position with the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners as the Business Services Director. She served in that capacity for 16 months before being selected as the Assistant County Administrator in March 2018.
Tasha received a master's degree in Business Administration and a bachelor's degree in Accounting, both from the University of North Florida. She holds the designation as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Government Financial Manager.
